For this we use very light tackle and fish further west of Minehead past Porlock bay and fish the various reefs, mussel beds and sand banks for gurnards, bass, trigger fish, black bream, ballan wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, pollock, mackerel and garfish. With explosion in popularity of LRF fishing a lot of anglers now want to target the many mini species that inhabit this area including tadpole fish, scorpion fish, tompot blenny, topknot, poor cod and various types of goby’s. Its not uncommon to catch 20 different species in a day. These species trips will always yield the usual Huss, conger, rays Etc so a mixed bag is guaranteed. But be warned this type of angling can become very addictive and competitive.
